Current Issues

The Georgia Interfaith Public Policy Center engages with policy issues that affect Georgians within our mutual faith-based values of love, justice, mercy, and hospitality.

Each fall, our board holds a day-long retreat to pray, hear from experts, and determine the issues the Center will focus on in the upcoming year. These issues may involve economic, environmental, or racial justice. They may also address healthcare, or issues within the state justice system.

During 2019-2020, the Center was an active ally in the coalition to pass a Hate Crimes bill and to expand expungement of criminal records. We also spoke out on Medicaid expansion, restoring voter rights, and raising the automatic age of adult incarceration from 17 to 18.
